Okay, let's try this again. 9/14 Brewers Open Thread Part II

A baseball season is a fickle thing. Over 162 games, every team has hot streaks and cold streaks. Every team has periods of good luck and bad. It's easy for the poorer fans to lose heart in rough times. It's hard to say when a team's hot streak or cold streak may end. Because of that, the Brewers still have the best shot at winning the wild card. A one-game lead is still a lead. Maybe we can make it 2 by the end of the night!

Back when I was 3 years old, the Brewers were heading into the final series of the season with a 2 game lead on the Baltimore Orioles in the AL East. They had to take just one game in the 4 game series from the Orioles to win the division. They lost the first three, and from what I'm told, spirits were low and people were worried. But the Crew won the final game 10-2, and all was well.

Let's hope the Brewers can turn this thing around tonight. Suppan (10-8, 4.63) goes against Brett Meyers (9-11, 4.22), who's pitching on three days of rest. The line-up is the same as the early game:

RF Corey Hart
SS J.J. Hardy
2B Ray Durham
1B Prince Fielder
LF Ryan Braun
CF Mike Cameron
3B Craig Counsell
C Jason Kendall
RHP Dave Bush

If you're a true fan that sticks by your team through thick and thin, say it with me: Go Brewers!

Ugh. And Big Z has a no-no going at Miller Park.

That no-no is okay for us though. Let's keep Houston back. We're not going to catch the Cubs from 7.5 back with 12 to play.

what a shitty, shitty end to an awesome awesome day.

Agreed. Now we are in a 3-way race with the Mets and Phillies for 2 play-off spots. We have the hardest schedule on paper, but it's very likely the Cubs will be locks by the time we play them at Miller and won't throw their big guns at us.
