Hair of the Dog, Monday, September 8th, 2008

It’s going to have to be a quick one today. Real life sometimes gets in the way.

Which is unfortunate, since the NFL is as upside-down as ever. Three Super Bowl favorites, Jacksonville, San Diego, and Indy lost at home. New England lost their best player for the year. Are the Bears good again? Because that would be terrible.

What we do know is that fantasy-wise, you should start any running back playing against the Lions. Michael Turner might be good, but he’s probably not THAT good.

The Pack plays tonight. We’ll have an open thread so stop by to see how this whole Aaron Rodgers thing works out. Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco had impressive starts, so hopefully Aaron can keep the trend going.

The Flying Badgers

If the Allan Everidge is as good as he looked on Saturday, the Badgers will be very, very good.

The Drunken Brewers

The Brewer offense continues to look terrible, even in victory. They’ve yet to really be hurt by it, but if it doesn’t turn around soon, one of the other Wild Card competitors will start to make some hay. There are 19 games left, the shockingly Red Hot Reds come to town, fresh off of smoking Kerry Wood and the Cubs for a 4-3 comeback win that almost killed Ron Santo. The Reds should be easy pickings, and if the Brewers can just take care of business they’ll be in good shape, but nothing has come easy lately, and this probably won’t either.

Today’s HOTD is brought to you by

The now defunct Miller Lite Amber. If was good while it lasted.
