Let Us Rejoice With A Celebratory Headbutt

Tarvaris Jackson has been benched in favor of Gus Frerotte.

Also, baseball players apparently love the movie Major League. But then again, who doesn't?

That fanhouse article did something that pisses me off: compared Major League to Bull Durham (or at least it acknowledged that the comparison is often made).

The two movies are like night and day. Major League is hillarious. Bull Durham is unwatchable. Major League is a guy comedy. Bull Durham is a chick flick (don't let the baseball background fool you). Major League is highly re-watchable and highly quoteable. Bull Durham has like two unclever quotes that include the word "pussy," and guys pretending Susan Sarandon is attractive. Bull Durham sucks. The two movies aren't even in the same ballpark.

So Danny, probably a bad time to bring up, "For the Love of the Game?"

Actually, one of my favorite lines of any movie is, "I want you to HIT the bull." I've used that coaching my daughter's fastpitch team.

Loved Major League. I avoid all Kevin Costner movies. Except Silverado.

A League of Their Own is a legit baseball movie. Everything is done right i that movie, including base runners hitting the inside corner of the bag.

I wish there was a G version to show our softball girls.

Wouldn't it be nice if your favorite blue ray movie came with all different ratings? You could watch the G rated Star Wars with the kids and then flip to the porn rated Star Wars after kids go to bed.

C'mere Jawa!

Eh, it was better than Bull Durham. For the Love of the Game is obviously a chick movie. It doesn't try to fool you. And it's never mentioned in the same sentence as Major League.

I actually like Costner for the most part. I like Field of Dreams and Tin Cup a lot. I even sort of like some of those epics that everyone hates (e.g. Waterworld and The Postman). Robin Hood was frickin sweet too.

Maybe I just hate Susan Sarandon.

Pretty sure I still want to do susan sarandon. Even if she is 70.

You watched Jedi last night on Spike, didn't you? Kind of makes you wonder what Freud would say about the light saber.

Sarandon doesn't do much for me. Now, if you say Michelle Pfieffer, then I probably would be game.

IMO, the all-time best "older" babe is Maureen O'Hara. Ever see pictures of her 30 years ago. My God! Makes me wish I were a leprechaun.

I don't understand why we would celebrate the Vikings making themselves a better team.
