Cole Hamels

The Phillies are going with Cole Hamels. This means a few things:

1. Corey Hart should be on the bench. 1-13 with a single and 6 strikeouts. Combine that with how atrocious he has been and I put Joe Dillon (2-2) in right.

2. Bill Hall is terrible, especially so against Hamels (3-15 with 5 k's). I don't care if he is a lefty, he is a lefty who is tougher on righties than lefties. Counsell gets the start.

3. Same goes with Durham (1-7, 3 k's) and Weeks (.785 OPS).

You see the trend? To beat Hamels you start your lefties.

How is Dillon on the playoff roster?

I don't know what the playoff roster is. Dillon was a placeholder for any schmuck.

Sept callups don't get on. they don't have any ahmuck to replace hart.

since he started the season on the roster I thought he might. I have no idea what the later rules are since I haven't had to worry about them since I was 1 year old

What about Lamb in place of Hart?

Geesh ESK, I have a couple of pimples on my ass older than you. I was a year away from driving.

Question: Yount had 2 HRs on that final day in '82, yet not many remember it because, quite frankly, nobody really saw it. Cable TV wasn't anywhere near what it is now. Will Braun's dinger resonate more in Brewer's history because of that?

No. Not unless the
Brewers make the World Series and Braun makes the hall of fame.

Had to be on big club or dl Sept 1 to be eligible. However, injuries to kapler, branyan and sheets could open up spots for Dillon, gwynn and stetter maybe?

Dillon was on the team on September 1st. Struck out in the ninth against the Mets

Clarification because Tracker is dumb:

A player has to be on the 40-man roster on Sept. 1 to be added to the playoff roster. Thus, somebody like reliever Todd Coffey is not eligible because the Brewers didn't claim him off waivers from Cincinnati until Sept. 10.
