Brewers-Reds Playing for Pride Open Thread

I think the more relevant discussions will revolve around football, but we still got a shot with the Crew!

CF Mike Cameron
3B Craig Counsell
LF Ryan Braun
1B Prince Fielder
SS J.J. Hardy
RF Corey Hart
2B Rickie Weeks
C Jason Kendall
RHP Seth McClung

I really cannot wait until Mike Rivera is no longer a Brewer and can provide insight as to why the heck the Crew refused to play him.

Panthers - Vikings
Bucs - Bears

Both going on now, both hold interest for the Pack.  Go Crew!  Go Panthers!  Go Bucs!

this Patriots game is so awesome. Matt Cassel is bad at football.

steveegg said...

Where was that Bad Cassel last week?

steveegg said...

McClung out of gas. What the hell is Maddux doing?

steveegg said...

And finally Coffey comes in with the bases loaded, 1 out, 1 in.

steveegg said...

Nice stranding by Coffey.

steveegg said...

Why the fuck is Cameron trying to bunt?

steveegg said...

Good news; Bears down. Bad; Vikings up.

steveegg said...

I'll take the error on what should've been an inning-ending double play to plate a pair.

DannyNoonan said...

Nice. A couple gift runs.

steveegg said...

Even better; Matt Kenseth is out front in Dover.

steveegg said...

UNNGGHHH - Bears now up 17-14.

DannyNoonan said...

They're into car racing in England?

steveegg said...

Delaware.

steveegg said...

Cameron got drilled in the knee area.

steveegg said...

Where's the mound-charging? It's a beanball fest out there.

steveegg said...

And they don't make the Reds pay.

We're to the front end of the new pen rotation.

steveegg said...

On to the middle of the pen rotation.

steveegg said...

Time for some Badger Mutual Insurance runs.

DannyNoonan said...

I went to Delaware once for work. It wasn't what I expected from a mid-Atlantic state. So I buy that.

DannyNoonan said...

I can't believe the Dolphins are destroying the Patriots.

steveegg said...

They have a high-banked mile track there right next to a casino. Kenseth is still out front and they're closing in on halfway.

Even better, Earnhardt had a wreck, and Kyle Busch is in the process of blowing up, so Kenseth should get out of the 12-hole.

The NFL does stand for Not For Long.

The Super Loser Curse is hitting hard.

steveegg said...

Bucs are starting their 2-minute march against the Bears down 7.

steveegg said...

On to Mota.

steveegg said...

Poor clock management on the Bucs' part. They wasted 6 seconds to call their last time-out.

Down to the Bears' 2.

steveegg said...

TOUCHDOWN BUCS!

Will they go for the tie or win?

steveegg said...

Tie in Chicago. May I suggest a hard hat for Paul (it is Paul that's in Chi-town, right?)?

DannyNoonan said...

Braves scored a run and have a man on third and are into the Mets' bullpen. 4-3 Mets.

steveegg said...

Overtime in Chicago and New York.

E.S.K. said...

this is the best first slate of games I can remember in a long time. So many fun games

steveegg said...

The Bucs and Giants will start with the ball.

steveegg said...

Another Badger Mutual Insurance run.

steveegg said...

Stupid intentional grounding by Griese.

Meanwhile, the Bengals held.

steveegg said...

And the back end of the pen rotation is in.

One gone for Torres.

steveegg said...

Bears also held, but are starting inside their 20.

steveegg said...

2 gone, runner on 1st.

steveegg said...

Giants inside the Bengals' 10.

steveegg said...

Come on Sal; we need out #3, not baserunners.

steveegg said...

Bucs held again as the Bears had a case of the dropsies.

steveegg said...

Boo - Vikings won.

steveegg said...

HOORAY BEER!!!

DannyNoonan said...

Go Brewers!

Also, Braves tied it up.

steveegg said...

Giants win, Bucs pinned inside their 10.

DannyNoonan said...

And Steve, I gotta say, you are a one-man open thread! Nice work.

steveegg said...

They always get the second guy, which saves the Bucs.

steveegg said...

I was too late to put one up at the Pub today.

Let's Go Braves!

DannyNoonan said...

Braves up 5-4!

steveegg said...

Braves took the lead!

steveegg said...

Bucs have the ball, and they're in near-record field goal range.

steveegg said...

And they're inside the Bears' 10.

Suicide watch now up for Chicago.

steveegg said...

I won't be around for tonight; will be watching the game at my sister's on her big-screen (not HD yet because DirecTV told them to wait until things were hooked up, but I did hook up the surround sound for them at the beginning of the week).

Maybe I should drag my antenna over so they can get the HD feed.

steveegg said...

Suicide Warning now up for Chicago:

Tampa Bay 27
Chicago 24

E.S.K. said...

YEAH!!!! Thank you Heliman

DannyNoonan said...

2 more for the Braves!

DannyNoonan said...

Crap. The Mets took a few back. 7-6 Braves, with two outs in the bottom of the 9th.

DannyNoonan said...

Braves win!

Okay, 1.5 back with a day off tomorrow and the Mets headed to Chicago. We can still do this!

I'm staying at the downtown Hilton with a beautiful view of the lake - and the hordes of Bears fans walking very slowly back my way.

It's a beautiful sight to behold
