Burrell Out?

Tom Haudricourt is reporting that Pat Burrell missed a media session today to receive treatment on his ailing back, and that his status is what's holding up the posting of the Phillies lineup.

Burrell is extremely important not just because he is a dangerous bat in a dangerous order, but also because he helps to break up the powerful lefties in the Phillies' lineup. Burrell (I believe) usually hits behind Ryan Howard. if the Phillies were forced to replace Burrell with Geoff Jenkins, it would allow the Brewer LOOGYs to neutralize a big chunk of the Philly lineup.

I thought Jenkins went down for the year weeks ago (propelling Werth to the starters role)?

I think Stairs is the replacement.

Yeah, I think you're correct. Haudricourt mentioned the possibility in the link.
