It's Official

Brewers name Macha as their new manager.

The Brewers called a 2 p.m. CT press conference Thursday during which they will name Macha, 58, as the 16th skipper in club history. Macha passed on the Brewers' offer in October 2002 to remain in Oakland, but quickly became the leading candidate earlier this month as Melvin searched for a replacement for Ned Yost and Dale Sveum...

"Sveum could be back as third-base or bench coach, and Melvin also encouraged Macha to retain pitching coach Mike Maddux, bullpen coach Bill Castro and first-base coach Ed Sedar."

That must be rough on Sveum's ego.

Why bring in a new manager if you are not going to let him bring in his own people as coaches?

Yeah, I'd tend to agree to some extent. I think with Sveum at least it's just a recommendation, but still seems like he should get more say in stuff like that.

Whoa, Chris with a substantive comment?!?! Nice work tough guy.

Hmmm I wonder who Anon is

I know it is not Danny or Paul

I am guessing it is not ESK or Eric

So before you throw out tough guy comments Anon why don't you at least tell me/us who you are :)

Yeah, i usually mask my identity when I mock you. Jesus bro.

The only person I'd ask him to keep is Castro. There's no real reason to change the bullpen guy and the Latino players love him the league over.

I am hoping Svuem stays at third though.
