As I Predicted: New Manager ASAP

The Brewers are going to name their new manager (I'll be stunned if it's anyone but Macha) "either today or tomorrow."
The Brewers were honoring the moratorium on announcing managerial
hirings during the World Series, so now they can go ahead with their
business. Had Tampa Bay won last night and forced the Series to go on
to Game 6 and perhaps 7, I'm not sure what the Brewers would do because
they want to get this done and move forward.

But it's my information that Macha is the man. I've expected all along
he would be the favorite because Melvin wanted to hire him before the
2003 season but Macha was promoted from bench coach to manager in
Oakland instead. So, Melvin hired Ned Yost, who was fired with 12 games
remaining this season.

I like the pick, for all the reasons laid out here. Plus, hopefully it makes Kendall retire.

I don't want Kendall to retire. I think he's awesome and an importnat part of the team. I do place some level of importance on defense, leadership and calling a game. That said, he played waayyyy more than he, or any other catcher, should. I'd love to see him split time with a guy like Rivera.

Wow, you predicted the Brewers would name their manager after the world series when they're basically required to wait until after the world series to name their manager.

I can also easily predict the limited sense of humor many on the internet possess.

Call me Nostradamus, please.

I for one, do want Kendall to retire. I'd take a catching corp of Rivera/Salome any day of the week.

I think your prediction was "by Monday." It's Thursday. You might as well have predicted "by February." Ooooh.
