Tempered Enthusiasm

Doug Melvin was thwarted in his attempt to significantly downgrade a position of relative strength, according to Haudricourt.

So, the Brewers are planning on starting the season with Mike Cameron in center, and I am pretty damned stoked about it.

Does this mean that Brian Cashman is dumber than Melvin? It must, mustn't it?

I think it means Brian Cashman is going to sign Manny/Dunn and try and play with no outfielders.

I for one cannot wait to see Cams first strike out when a simple fly ball would have drove in a run.

I am even more stoked about watching balls go over his head in Centerfield something I witnessed in person far to many times

we might as well pile that 10 million up in center field and light it on fire for the value we will get from it.

What's a "simple fly ball?" Is that like an easy sac bunt? Or the Yeti?

aw, now who is depressed about the Brewers?

I wouldn't say I'm "stoked" about Cameron back in center, but I'd much rather him there than any alternative (Melky, Gwynn, Kapler, Hart) I've seen discussed.

What would stoke me is if we dumped Cameron to make way for a Milton Bradley signing.

I'm not necessarily stoked about Cameron, I'm stoked that they were unable to make the team worse despite Doug's best efforts.
