Gaming the system

Tom H. is reporting that the Brewers' rotation for Cactus League will be 1. Suppan, 2. Gallardo, 3. Parra, 4. Looper and 5. Bush. Tom thinks it's possible this will carry into the regular season because Keeping him at #2 it would take pressure off of Yo and would allow the new guy, Looper, to start the home opener against the Cubs.

I think this is a great rotation. I just hope Macha is doing it for the express reason of having his worst pitcher throw against everyone else's aces in the beginning of the season and creating better match-ups for #2-#5.

The only issue I have with it is the #5 spot can sometimes be skipped based on rest, so I'd prefer Suppan and Bush be swapped.

Silver Lining Part 2:

With Suppan facing more top-line guys and aces, it becomes more likely that he will be removed from the rotation.

What do you think it would take for Suppan to be removed from the rotation?

A consistent inability to get past the 3rd inning.

I do like this idea why waste Yo against their number one if Soup is going to lose anyway better he does it against the number one. Plus there will be the day where he gets lucky and wins 8-5.

I personally do think Soup can't be bad enough to be removed from the line up and you all know why.
