Kind of getting a late start, but the Brewers are up 8-0 on the Pirates in the 5th and the Bucks are trailing the Hawks by like 20 in the 3rd. Anyone watching? That's the beauty of the interweb, ya know? I can follow both games and watch LOST at the same time. Go Brewers/Bucks/Hugo.
The Bucks really have no chance without Bogut. Damn shame.
ReplyDeleteRock just read off a bunch of scary stats. Only one of our starters has chalked up a W this year? Haven't won a first game of a series yet?
ReplyDeleteWonder when Prince will start hitting homers?
Yeah Edmonds! Yeah poor base-running!
ReplyDeleteLost is still on?
ReplyDeleteJustified, now there is a show.
Great outing for "Bushie"
ReplyDeleteBush should have a couple of wins and Wolf also had a W stolen by the imploding pen. So that stat is not as bad as it seems.
ReplyDeleteBrewers starters also lead the league in fewest bananas per pitch, most orangutans per stirrup and trail only the Cardinals in stumbles/flasks percentage.
ReplyDeleteAll equally as important when judging a pitchers effectiveness as wins.
Agreed with ESK. Not to rag on Hoffman here but when you can get a win for giving up 3 earned runs in your one inning of work, whereas performing better would have given the win to someone else, you can pretty safely say they mean just about zero. The CONCEPT of wins/losses is pretty cool but it's a useless stat. That said I'm glad Bush finally got one, although I am disappointed they didn't try to get a complete game out of him...I'm a huge sucker for that kind of thing, any starter should be able to throw like 120-125 pitches anyway, and I'm sure a CG would have inspired not only Bush but the whole team.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Bucks...it's pretty clear how the absence of Bogut really exposes this team - they weren't really able to drive to the basket and hardly got any rebounzzz...Kurt Thomas is replacement level, Gazuric blows entirely, and Ilyasova isn't built to be a center (though he's damn good otherwise), so in the end we just have no size and yeeeeah no winning that one
