I watched the least amount of college basketball I have watched in a long time this year. I assume that means this will be my best bracket ever. Some highlights:
Wisconsin and Marquette make it to the sweet sixteen where they lose to Pitt and Memphis respectively.
Louisville, UConn, Villanova and Syracuse are in the Final Four. I so wanted to pick West Virginia to make is an all Big East four but I just couldn't.
UConn wins 77-72 over Villy.
What's the peanut gallery got for their picks?

Final 4 = West Virginia, Pitt, Memphis, and Gonzaga.
ReplyDeleteI don't see that much separation between teams at the top of the bracket, and don't expect many #1 seeds to be around when this thing is all said and done. Picking their replacements was really just a crap shoot, but I think WV has a nice path until Louisville, Gonzaga is the best team in their region with Lawson hurt and the Oklahoma guards being exposed as sub-par since Griffin's injury.
Memphis is likely the best team in the country, though I admit this is largely speculation due to their crappy conference. Their defense is off-the-charts good. They will beat Pitt in the finals.
I like Wisconsin to get out of the first round, and actually picked them to make the sweet sixteen, even though they're not very good. Poor Marquette, a better team than Wisconsin even without James, I have as an early victim of Utah State in the 1st round, though I hope I'm wrong as I find Marquette highly entertaining.
I have Louisville, Memphis, Pitt and NC in the final four. NC beats Memphis in the championship. I have Wisconsin winning in the first round but losing in the second, and Marquette losing in the first round (mostly because my pool is all Marquette guys).
ReplyDeleteMU makes the 16, UW loses to FSU. I liked the Badgers initially, but FSU hasn't played many bad games. Most of their losses came to either Duke or NC.
ReplyDeleteI like NC to win it all. I also like Roy Williams to get hit by a truck crossing the street.
Venezuela wins the WBC neither Wisconsin or MU make the sweet 16 Duke wins it all
ReplyDeleteI say Pitt over Louiville with Memphis and Oklahoma in the F4.
ReplyDeleteI agree... I think Wisconsin makes the sweet 16 and so does Marquette.
I'm all for Roy Williams getting hit by a bus too, hopefully Hansborough is near by.
Memphis is in big big trouble early. Their 3 best players all have 2 fouls and it's close.
ReplyDeleteMemphis is still in big trouble in the second half.
ReplyDeleteNow that my final four is still intact, Memphis, Louisville, Pittsburgh, UNC, with Memphis over UNC for the title.
ReplyDeleteHowever, in my other pool based on the point spread, Memphis didn't cover, so I'm down a team one game in.
Louisville, UConn, Pitt, Gonzaga. Uconn over Pitt 71-68. ND State and UT State are this year's cinderellas
ReplyDeleteI'll go with Kansas, UConn, Duke, and Carolina for the ultimate UNC-Duke final 4 matchup. UConn to win it all over Duke
ReplyDeleteLouisville, Memphis, North Carolina, Duke. Louisville defeats North Carolina for the title.
ReplyDeleteCan someone explain to me how Wisconsin which beat Michigan twice and who they finished higher in the Big Ten than Michigan is a 12 seed and Michigan is 10
ReplyDeleteYes. Michigan beat Duke, and UCLA when they were ranked 4th in the country. Wisconsin beat a bunch of middling teams and didn't score a single impressive win.
ReplyDeleteMy Final Four: Pitt over Memphis in Championship, Michigan State, North Carolina.
