Prediction
If Texieria signs the reported deal with the Red Sox, Mike Lowell and Manny Delcarmen will be in Milwaukee and JJ Hardy will be in Boston. Other players will be involved.
Of course, the other players involved would determine whether such a deal is a net plus or minus for the Brewers, but I want to keep Hardy. Shortstops like him can't be replaced.
Your problem is Escobar. You can't have Hardy and Escobar. That's a waste of resources. And I like Hardy, but Escobar will be cheaper longer, and while Hardy is a masher for a SS, he's not for a 3rd baseman.
I'm not necessarily a fan myself. Lowell isn't a world-beater, and I think you should get more for Hardy (and maybe you would). PECOTA likes the 34-year-old Lowell to put up a .285/.345/.487 with 14 HRs (in Fenway). OK, and an upgrade over the current disaster at third, but not worth Hardy.
That would not make me happy.
ReplyDeletenot sure how I feel about this if it happened
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying I would like it.

Going by the Cameron deal, we'll be lucky to get Lowell.
ReplyDelete(And again, I am not advocating, just predicting)
We definately kept the wrong suit.
