Jeff Suppan will put the notion that he is a playoff virtuoso to the test. Big time. I'm hoping for 4 from Suppan, 2 from McClung and then let the late guys take over (NOT TORRES).
I like this lineup a lot more than last nights. For one, the suck that is Bill Hall is no longer in the two hole. Also, Ray Durham is a Joe Blanton fan, putting up a whopping 1.358 OPS against him in 14 plate appearances.
CF Mike Cameron
2B Ray Durham
LF Ryan Braun
1B Prince Fielder
SS J.J. Hardy
RF Corey Hart
3B Craig Counsell
C Jason Kendall
RHP Jeff Suppan
If you don't know which side this standard lineup bats by the 4th game of the playoffs, well, I'm not going to coddle you. I guaranty MLB is hoping for a Brewers win, if only to set up the epic Sabathia-Hamels game 5.
Also going today, the Packers against the Falcons. Rodgers is currently warming up but no decision has been made. Personally, I think they can beat the one dimensional Falcons without Rodgers, but here's hoping he plays.

HUGE game last night. I predict another one tonight. The Cubs had nothing against ((Suppan X 5) + (McClung X 4)) last time we started that particular equation, and I see no reason why the Phillies will handle it any better.

ReplyDeleteJoe Blanton isn't very good. But either is Jeff Suppan. There could be a lot of scoring in this one.
ReplyDeleteSuppan is bad at pitching. What a mistake to let him start this game. McClung? Yo? Parra? CV? All would have been better.
