Opening Day Game Thread

Well, I'm not sure if the game will be played today or tomorrow or some other time, but lets put out a thread anyway. If we need to move it to the top later, so be it. It's reigning Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum against mediocre old guy Jeff Suppan. Here are the lineups:

Brewers
2B Rickie Weeks
RF Corey Hart
LF Ryan Braun
1B Prince Fielder
SS J.J. Hardy
CF Mike Cameron
3B Bill Hall
C Jason Kendall
RHP Jeff Suppan

Giants
RF Randy Winn
SS Edgar Renteria
LF Fred Lewis
C Bengie Molina
3B Pablo Sandoval
1B Travis Ishikawa
CF Aaron Rowand
2B Emmanuel Burris
RHP Tim Lincecum

Go Brewers!

Update: Tom H. says they're shooting for an afternoon start.

  2. I'm still skeptical it'll happen today.

  3. I cannot help but giggle in excitement. Yes I'm in my cubicle and I don't care who can hear me cheer!

  4. By the way did anyone catch FSN last night? They replayed the wild card clinching game in full. It was the perfect primer for getting ready for a new season.

  5. My stupid computer is freezing up at MLB.com. Crap.

  6. Nice start Rickie. Making Timmy work.

  7. Have I mentioned that I hate Jeff Suppan? Because I hate Jeff Suppan.

  8. I'm not saying, "soooop". I'm saying, "pooooop"

  9. Admit it, that fat pitch was still extra gritty.

  10. That was one of the grittiest pitches I've seen. If not for the grit it would have flown all the way out of the park.

  11. You know, as shitty as Suppan is, he really doesn't get much credit for grittiness. Just shittiness.

  12. They need to make him work, and get him out of there.

  13. Strange, Hall struck out against a righty

  14. I'm surprised no one mentioned Hart going after the first pitch after a walk. Good to see Sveum making a difference in approach.

  15. Wow. That was unusual. He's still -2 on runs though.

  16. I meant to give Corey crap for that, but forgot. Especially as Timmy seems to be struggling with his control a bit.

  17. Nice work by the bottom of the order.

  18. I call shenanigans on anyone who cannot get out of the way of a Jeff Suppan off speed pitch.

  19. Jeff suppan sucks.

Just got to the 21st amendment. Go brewers.

  20. Baseball season is now officially underway now that Rickie Weeks has been plunked.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yeah, let's kill 'em with small ball with suppan on the mound!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Bronx cheer for Fred Lewis. Harsh.

    C'mon Prince, no grounders!

    ReplyDelete
  23. So they wanna play that game, huh?

    ReplyDelete
  24. There's a big red man in the bullpen

    ReplyDelete
  25. Nice move cameron. Damn.

    Nelson is up?

  26. Except for a couple more walks, looks like the same team as last year, for better and for worse. Can anyone tell me why Bill Hall is still on a major-league roster?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Walked once, struck out twice. I suppose that's an improvement over the usual 3 trips back to the bench for him.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Talk about your high cheese. BIG K.

  29. One thing I like; the WTMJ audio is synched with the Fox Sports video.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Uh-oh; McClung has no control, and that has cost the Crew at least a run.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Why isn't stetter up for this guy?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Nevermind. Whew, that was bad but could have been worse. Let's get a few dingers for chrisake

    ReplyDelete
  33. Again, I ask why Bill Hall is on a major-league roster. Size 3 collar with an inning-killing double play.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Does Billy Fucking Hall know how fucking bad he really fucking is?

    ReplyDelete
  35. This game is out of control. It is out of control, and the Brewers' pitching staff is not living through it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. strap in for a looooooong season, folks

    ReplyDelete
  37. It's the ghost of Maddux Past.

    ReplyDelete
  38. That was a Hunter Wendelstadt Crew Screw Special.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Bush is pitching because he isn't sheduled to start til Saturday, they wanted him to get time in.

    ReplyDelete
  40. So...Hart still susceptible to that low-away slider.
